A15 Crusader "Bulldog" of 2 Troop, B Squadron, 9th Australian Division Cavalry Regiment

Finished my A15 Crusader, named “Bulldog”, of 2 Troop, B Squadron, 9th Australian Division Cavalry Regiment. The 9th Division AIF arrived in the Middle East with Vickers MkVI light tanks and Universal Carriers; their first actions were fighting the Vichy French, from which they captured and used some Renault R35 tanks, and then the Italians, using captured M13/40s and other Italian tanks. As German armour became stronger, they were rearmed with British Crusader cruiser tanks and M3 Stuarts.

I followed this great YouTube tutorial from The War Gamer.

After assembly I primed with Army Painter Desert Yellow spray, then drybrushed with Army Painter Skeleton Bone. This was followed by an allover wash with Army Painter Soft Tone. With relevant sections of armour gloss coated by brush with Humbrol Gloss Cote, I applied decals; no pictures exist of Crusaders with 9th Australian Division identifiers however I based my application both on British tanks and this excellent guide to Australian Matilda tank markings.

With decals applied and the vehicle weathered I attached the antenna and put in the (already painted) commander then gave the whole vehicle a spray of Model Master Lusterless Lacquer.

Very pleased with the result and I look forward to driving this beauty on the table.
